Sometimes the weather doesn’t agree with us after having scheduled a move. Based on our (Allen and Son) experience, the following steps have helped us achieve successful moves and protect customer belongings:

Keep track of the weather reports during the week before your move. Stay in touch with the moving company. If snow is expected, for safety reasons, we can delay the moving day up to 2 days.

To preserve your belongings, we consider either plastic wrapping or shrink wrapping your furniture.

Protect your mattress and box spring properly.

We consider shrink wrapping the boxes beforehand.

If it is snowing on that day, make sure that your street has been cleared of snow and is open to traffic. If it is cleared, be sure there is no ice.

As each item is removed from your home, double-check to see that it is properly protected from the weather.
